Girl's Club

Addison has a great group of friends. They are so sweet, kind and well mannered. We have really lucked out with her choice of friends!

Two summers ago these girls created a club (with the help of one of the GREAT moms, Shannon Sundberg, Heidi's mom) which they named Girl's Club. This is how it works:  Every week a girl hosts the club and together with her mom provide an activity of some kind for a couple of hours. Each week a different girl hosts.

  This year for our turn they first decorated aprons. I used my handy dandy Cricut and cut each girl's name out then sewed it on their apron. Addison hand picked the material for each girl that would spell the names. They got to use fabric markers and decorate the apron however they chose. Addison was so sweet and was great to let Emian be a part of the "big" girls.

After they were done with their aprons they decorated cupcakes. It was so fun to see their personalities come out in their cupcakes. Some girls wanted to eat them right there, others meticulously decorated for each member of their family and took them all home. What surprised me most was that these two activities were done in a flash. I thought for sure we wouldn't have too much extra time at the end. I was dead wrong. They ended up in the backyard for close to an hour!

Addison and I found these cute cupcake boxes that would fit four of their cupcakes. Those girls that wanted to eat cupcakes as they decorated took home at least four because they wanted to use their box!

This has become a great tradition with these wonderful girls. I hope they want to continue until they are teenagers! (Well at least in some form!)
