Wow, have my little ones grown. Addison is now 6 and enjoying her summer away from school. She enjoys reading and loves math. She is a very analytical thinker and can find a loop in just about anything you say. She is very excited to be a first grader! Addison is our social butterfly and loves to be around family and friends. She loves to be a little mommy to Emian and little cousins and bosses us ALL when she gets the chance! Her laugh is infectious and she still has a very giggly personality. She and Emian will be best friends one minute and mortal enemies the next. Ah, the life of sisterhood!
Emian is 3 and has a vivid imagination. She has a constant companion in "Sillyface" who, of course, is imaginary and used to be "Stupid head" until I was able to convince her it wasn't a good name. One day Emian asked if Sillyface could come over to play. My response was that I thought Sillyface was always over at our house. Emian said, "No mom, Sillyface lives in China." On our recent trip to Bryce Canyon National Park, Emian rode her horse "Brownie" along most of the trails. She would gallop with her arms at a 90 degree angle and fists made as if holding on the the reigns of her horse. Emian is still a mamma's girl. At times she won't even talk to or look at those she loves and is familiar with.
I love watching my two little ones learn and grow. They change so quickly and it makes me so sad. With Addison moving on to first grade and "all day school" and Emian starting pre-school I realize I am heading into a new frontier. Life has changes so much in the past six years. I can hardly remember what it was like before motherhood. It is a great and challenging calling.
