Christmas Is Coming!

I am so excited for Christmas! Don't ask because I don't know why. I've really gotten into the spirit of Christmas early this year and I feel like a little kid. Two years ago I started a tradition with the girls. I make an advent calender which is two strings of envelopes that hang on the wall. They are numbered 1-24, one for each day of December (before Christmas of course). The girls alternate days and when it is their turn they get to cut off the envelope that corresponds to the date. Inside is a paper that tells them what the activity will be for the day. One day might be to read a new Christmas book, or go to Temple Square to look at lights, the ballet, Festival of Trees, make goodies, some goofy Christmas craft, a scavenger hunt that ended with nutcrackers (they desperately wanted their own last year), you get the picture. Every day we do something or go somewhere. It makes the whole month feel special rather than just a few days. I've started working on the advent calendar and now I'm getting really excited for Christmas!
