Head, Heart and Hand

On May 27, 2009, Addison won an award at school. It is called the "Head, Heart and Hand Award". Students who are considered smart, caring and helpful are nominated by their teachers and awarded a plaque in front of the school. Her teacher had told me she may be getting it so when the call came from the school I was quite excited for her. I didn't tell her she was receiving it so that it would be a surprise during the assembly. This is what Ms. Nixon said about Addison and was read as she received her award,
"Addison Wheeler is a sweet, cooperative, wonderful student. She is a friend to all of us. She is fun to be around. Addison looks for ways to help others. She notices what needs to be done and either silently does it, or asks if she can help. Addison shows respect to everyone in our class. She can be trusted to take care of herself and be a good example to those around her. We love having Addison as a friend. She has really added to our class this year."
I am so proud of the girl Addison is becoming. I am grateful that her short school career has been a positive experience. I can hardly believe that my little five pound baby is finishing up first grade. She is an absolute joy and adds happiness and love to the environment around her. Way to go Addison!

Addison is such a good girl. I'm not surprised at all that she got that award, but I am so proud of her. She's such a sweetie, so smart and capable and so thoughtful. I love her so much!
