Day 6 was by far the MOST frustrating day of this remodel. I woke up extra early to get my workout and shower in before the floor guys and Doug showed up (Doug generally comes about 7:45). The clock kept ticking and no one was coming. Finally at about 10:30 the flooring people call saying they will be here around noon, maybe a bit earlier. So finally at 1:07 a got a knock on the door. Yea! But they need to eat lunch first. Understandable. Finally by 2:30 I start to hear some noise upstairs. One hour later it is dead silent. Huh? I waddle up the stairs to see a smoke break out in their truck. Four-thirty rolls around and they are checking out for the day. "We're gonna head out now. There's no reason to fire everything up for an hour. We'll be back by 8 or 8:30 in the morning." YOU BETTER!! Doug came by about noon to see how the work was coming. He was surprised to find out they hadn't been here yet. He said they'll have to deal with him tomorrow because he can't take another day without any progress in the kitchen. The cabinets are coming Wednesday. He still has the patching of the walls to do. So tomorrow, hopefully, the pictures will show wood floors in, walls patched! Wednesday will be sanding the mud and then putting in of the cabinets! To make the day worse we found out we will not be able to paint until after the cabinets are in (they have to go in Wed. because the granite place is coming on Thursday to make a template for counters), they may have ordered the wrong crown molding, and the cook top we ordered has been discontinued (that one ended in our favor, we get a better one for the same price!). To top it all of I spent a perfectly gorgeous day (high of 66!) in my basement WAITING for the flooring. Oh well, it is all out of my hands and our wonderful kitchen place has been great to work with and still plans to be done by the end of next week!

Apes, I love looking at the progress everyday! Keep it coming! Which of the three paint colors on the wall will be the final color? Excited to see the finished product!

Crazily enough, we actually put up five colors to pick from. We've been having a hard time choosing. Last night we went for it and bought the one that is over the doorway that leads downstairs. In the post "Days 4&5" it is the only doorway shown. We put that color up in three different spots and it looks different in all three spots. I guess we'll see this weekend (maybe sooner) how it looks everywhere! Hopefully we made the right decision!
